This position is within the USDA APHIS Wildlife Service Program in Oregon. The position will be based in Umatilla County Oregon, and the employee will work from their home responding to wildlife calls around the County. A government owned truck and equipment will be provided. The employee will manage a wide range of wildlife species to protect livestock, human health and safety and property. We are looking for a person with a strong skill set in wildlife identification, wildlife damage management including (tapping and shooting), and ability to communicate with public about wildlife issues in the area.
Salary Range $37,193 -$59,031 per year depending on qualifications. Federal benefits, including paid time off and insurance plan options are available.
Carrying a firearm is a condition of employment.
Common species managed in Umatilla County include but are not limited to coyote, wolves, pigeons, black bear, lion, fox, starlings, beaver.
