Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead all monitoring of restoration projects implemented by the Lower Deschutes Watershed Restoration Program. These projects will include: instream habitat improvements, channel restoration, riparian plantings, livestock management fencing, irrigation piping and efficiency, and fish passage.
- Oversee implementation of fisheries projects/studies; lead staff, including biologists and technicians, to schedule, implement, and ensure quality control, of all monitoring activities.
- Ensure accurate data collection both directly and through supervision of staff. Includes data collection, QA/QC, database updating, field notes, activity logs, and development of data management protocols as necessary.
- Maintain equipment, develop and communicate annual equipment needs.
- Oversee report writing, including data summarization and/or analysis, to reflect progress and details of project work efforts. Present upon, or otherwise communicate, results to technical and non-technical audiences including Tribal and non-Tribal agencies and resource managers, Tribal leadership, and Tribal members.
